What is the South African NGO/not-for Profit Organization Program?

This program has been designed to allow all legitimate NGOs and not-for profit organizations to participate in enriching the lives of many. These not-for-profit organizations would include student groups, church groups, and non-profit community groups or sports clubs. While we understand that such organizations may not have the necessary financial means to contribute in monetary terms, we believe that their participation is worthwhile and valuable to building this initiative.

In order to participate, we request that all such organizations engage in at least one fund-raising opportunity on behalf of the NMTT. Also we would request that individuals associated with a particular NGO or not-for profit organization who believe they can raise R1000 do so, and participate on the “individual volunteer programme”.

Once the organization confirms it commitment to participating in this program, the following steps would need to be completed

1. Assign an employee or team to pioneer the project to ensure that organisation’s objectives are met
2. Read the rules of engagement
3. Contact Mandy Wallace on mandy@mellonhousing.co.za or tell: +2721 9050155 to confirm the building date and other logistics
4. Complete the relevant application form on-line or request from number above.

Rules of Engagement

1. The NMTT will, in consultation with the organization, determine the building date and number of participants from the respective organization. The date agreed upon must in no-way affect the corporate program.

2. The building day starts at 08h30 and ends at 16h00 Monday to Thursday with the exception of public holidays.

3. The NMTT reserves the right to cancel or withdraw any participants’ involvement.

4. The organization may not use the Niall Mellon Township Trust name or its association with it unless such use is in order to raise funds in support of the initiative. In such instances the organization guarantees that such funds will be transferred to the NMTT account:

In this regard, the organization is to first consult with the NMTT before use of its name.

5. The NMTT will not engage in any marketing, communication or public relations activity on behalf of the organization and the organization will not use the NMTT in any of its marketing, communication or public relations activities without consent by the NMTT.

6. The organization will ensure that all its participants are transported to the site and that all participants are fed. The NMTT will not be responsible for meals and / or transportation of these participants.
